Danish Powwow Circle Powwows were first introduced in Danemark in the mid 80’s, by Lakota people from the Sinte Gleska University and some English Dancers and Singers. Nowadays, a group of approximately 50 dancers carry on organising powwows hosted by one to two drum groups each year. However, Exhibition Dancing is preferred to Contest Dancing. Danish and Sweedish circles have merged in different internationally organised powwow, being so close to each other. The Danish powwow circle evolves around two drum groups. The “Red Calf Singers” based in Copenhagen (Eastern part of Denmark) and the “Four Winds Above Singers” based in Århus (Western part of Denmark). Coming Events August 2008 Jutland-Jydsk Powwow
